Poliform’s King’s Road showroom hosts “LOOPHOLES”, an display of works by artist Orfeo Tagiuri, curated by Frieze Studios.
Design and art come together at Poliform King’s Road. The London flagship showroom becomes the setting for a new expression of the brand’s creativity during Frieze London. From the 12th to the 17th of October, the showroom will host “LOOPHOLES”, a display of works by artist Orfeo Tagiuri, curated by Frieze Studios.
Frieze Week has become an unmissable fixture in the capital’s autumn cultural calendar. At its heart is Frieze London, one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs, with editions also taking place in New York, Los Angeles and Seoul, and, from November, Abu Dhabi. Established in 2003, the fair brings together leading galleries, artists, collectors, curators and key figures from the international cultural scene beneath its iconic tents in Regent’s Park each year. Frieze London coincides with its sister fair, Frieze Masters, also in Regent’s Park. A programme of satellite fairs and events further transforms London into an open-air gallery.
For Poliform, Frieze represents a significant opportunity to strengthen its presence within the world of art and contemporary culture, reaffirming the brand’s affinity with creative disciplines beyond design.
It is from this vision that the collaboration with Orfeo Tagiuri was born. The London-based American artist works across a range of disciplines, from drawing and painting to engraving, woodworking, film and music.
For the display, Tagiuri will exhibit a series of works in etched wood, inspired by his close observation of materials and the relationship between humanity and the natural world. The artist allows the material to speak for itself, creating artworks within surfaces that are already extraordinary, characterised by distinctive grains, irregularities and markings that give each piece its unique identity. This approach draws on the rich traditions of craftsmanship and woodworking, reflecting a natural affinity with Poliform’s own design philosophy and expertise.
To mark the display, Poliform King’s Road will welcome Frieze VIP guests for an exclusive private event: a breakfast reception followed by a special conversation between Orfeo Tagiuri and art curator Ben Broome.
