Our history

Poliform was founded in 1970 on the initiative of Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani, who transformed the family’s artisan business established in 1942 into a modern industry. The new name signalled a departure from the past, suggesting flexibility, simplicity, elegance and openness to the future.

    Poliform: the beginning of an industrial company
    Cousins Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani found Poliform.

    The evolution of traditional furniture
    Modularity and flexibility shape the design of Poliform systems for the years to come.
  • 1990
    The evolution of an increasingly international brand
    The brand enters European markets, establishing itself as a leader in the wardrobe sector.
  • 1996
    Varenna Kitchens
    With the aim of bringing Poliform style into every area of the home, the company acquires the historic Italian kitchen brand Varenna.
  • 2001
    International Projects, Poliform Contract
    The beginning of the new millennium marks the launch of Poliform Contract, dedicated to the development of large-scale custom projects in the residential, retail and hospitality sectors.
  • 2010
    The Upholstered Furniture Division
    To expand its offering with a lifestyle-oriented approach, Poliform launches the production of upholstered furniture.
  • 2018
    Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement Award
    ADI – the Italian Association for Industrial Design – awards the founders of Poliform the Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • 2020
    Fifty Years of Poliform
    2020 marks the company’s fiftieth anniversary, celebrated by entrusting photographer Paolo Roversi with the visual narration of its history.
  • Today
    A Continuously Evolving World
    Poliform is now present across five continents, offering a complete home furnishing concept with a consistent stylistic and product identity.
