Our history

Poliform was founded in 1970 on the initiative of Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani, who transformed the family’s artisan business established in 1942 into a modern industry. The new name signalled a departure from the past, suggesting flexibility, simplicity, elegance and openness to the future.

    Poliform, an industry is born
    Cousins Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli and Giovanni Anzani founded Poliform.

    The evolution of traditional furniture
    Modularity and flexibility influenced the design of Poliform systems for years to come.

    The evolution of an increasingly international brand
    The brand entered the European markets, establishing itself as a leader in the wardrobe segment.

    Varenna kitchens
    With the idea of bringing the Poliform style to every area of the house, the company acquired Varenna, a historic Italian kitchen brand.

    International projects, Poliform Contract
    The beginning of the new millennium marked the birth of Poliform Contract, dedicated to developing large-scale custom projects in the residential, retail and hospitality sectors.

    The upholstery division
    To expand the range from a lifestyle perspective, Poliform launches the production of upholstered furniture.

    The Compasso d'Oro Lifetime Achievement Award
    The ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale bestows the Compasso d'Oro Lifetime Achievement Award on the founders of Poliform.

    Fifty years of Poliform
    2020 marked Poliform's fiftieth anniversary, a milestone celebrated by entrusting the photographer Paolo Roversi with the narration of the company's history.
