In the heart of Astana, the 330 m² duplex penthouse in the prestigious Akbulak Riviera complex unfolds across two levels, offering sweeping views of two riverfronts, the city skyline, and the surrounding natural landscape. The residence stands as a serene retreat above the capital, where architecture and emotion meet in perfect harmony.
Designed by Kvadrat Architects, co-directors Sergey Bekmukhanbetov and Rustam Minnekhanov conceived the project around a single heartfelt mandate: to seamlessly integrate a treasured family heirloom – a handcrafted Persian rug from Tabriz – into a contemporary interior. The result is a space where heritage and modern design coexist with quiet sophistication.
With complete creative freedom, the designers reimagined every detail – from the open floor plan to the dialogue of light, materials, and proportion. Selected Poliform elements, including the Artex kitchen, Lexington wardrobe system, and refined seating such as the Westside and Brera sofas, define the home’s distinctive aesthetic and timeless sense of balance.
