POLIFORM AT VILLA OLMO

13/5/2011

Villa Olmo as stage for the great exibition dedicated to “Boldini and the Belle Époque”.

Through a tour of 110 paintings and 20 period costumes (1871-1915), the exhibition aims to represent the artistic work of Giovanni Boldini among about twenty other artists active in France and Italy in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth century.
This exhibition, through art and fashion, represents the period of the Belle Epoque celebrating its unique aesthetic aspects, beginning with individual emancipation, to the evolution of women’s role in society which led to the creation of distinctly expressed styles, stemming from advancement and welfare among civil society.
As Poliform maintains close cultural connections, again this year, chose to enhance the exhibition at Villa Olmo with design pieces such as the Park sofa and Bali armchair designs by Carlo Colombo, the Wallace armchair by Jean-Marie Massaud and the Nex chair by Mario Mazzer to demonstrate the compelling combination of art and design.
